Allocate a certain amount, either on a monthly or yearly basis. You’ll need that money for network meetings, online marketing, or advertising material. Also think about the more expensive events like event sponsorship, seminars, and workshops, to keep your skills sharp. Incorporating this amount for marketing in your finances will give you peace of mind knowing the activities and events are paid for. It helps you stay on track with prospecting. Remember never stop prospecting!

Stock Photos: Free and Easy

I found a site that will make your search for stock photos a breeze! Whether you’re short on time or looking for free images, LibreStock is a great place to go.

Simply type in your keywords and let LibreStock go out and search the whole internet for free-to-use photos.  The result will be several beautiful images,  from many different sources.  You can immediately download any or all of them at no cost and with no worries about whether they are licensed to reuse. It is very important though as a courtesy to give credit to the photographer by stating ‘photo credit by’ and then link it to the respective website. In addition, if you like, you can either make a monetary or share donation.
Here is their website: LibreStock.com

Another way to look for images is via Google images search. Make sure you select Tools and make a selection from the drop down menu called: Usage rights. This filters images respective to your selection.

Check it out and let me know what you think. I would like to read your comments.

Overwhelmed by Emails?

Overwhelmed by Emails?

Overwhelmed by Emails?

Managing email can seem like an overwhelming task, but here are four simple things you can do to tackle this vital part of your business.

  1. Set aside the same time every day to go over your emails.  A daily schedule will keep the number of emails you have to weed through down and get you in the habit of completing this menial task.
  2. A good time to read and answer emails is 8 am – 9 am, and 2 pm – 3 pm
  3. Consider printing emails, attachments, or notes that you could add to paper records if you keep files.
  4. Regularly empty the junk or spam folder and delete the emails in your trash folder.
  5. Create filters that automatically put incoming emails into its respective folder.
  6. Archive email that is older than three months. It reduces the size of your mailbox and increases search speed.
Note: Emails with attachments typically take up a lot more space.

Contact me to assist you in the above tasks if you think this is too time-consuming for you. Also, let me know how you manage your emails.

eBooks or Hard Copy Books

eBooks or Hard Copy Books

eBooks or Hard Copy Books

Ever wonder about your preference of using an eBook rather than a hard copy of a book or the other way around?  I asked myself that question just the other week and here is what I came up with:

  • I love to just take an eBook on a trip because it saves space in your bag. Especially if you have 5 favorite books – they can all be on one eBook rather than packing 5 books.
  • Coming from Switzerland and reading English books, I encounter quite frequently a word that I don’t understand. An eBook makes it so easy to just highlight the word in question and the definition pops up; very convenient.
  • What I adore about hard copy books is the fact that it evokes a nostalgia in me: holding a book and brushing through the pages. A
  • I can write on book pages and personalize it especially when working through a chapter that speaks to me deeply – either personally or professionally.
  • Before I go to sleep I prefer to read a hardcopy book, because the glare of the eBook is not good for your eyes.
Studies have shown that it keeps you from relaxing and getting a good night’s sleep. Read more about that here: Ebooks at night won’t help you sleep

Let me know how you use your eBook or hard copy book.  Or do you not use eBooks at all?  Connect with me, I’m curious to know.

Natural Light Increases Productivity

You may not know that natural light can increase your motivation and productivity.

Now that you DO know that, what can you do if you don’t have a window in your office?  Or maybe the clouds cover the sun and leave you in an uninspired shade.  Try adding a natural daylight lamp to improve your efficiency.  Also, consider adding real plants and/or beautiful artwork to keep your workspace colorful ad alive.

A happy workspace helps keep your mood upbeat and your work enjoyable. Would love to hear from you what your experience is with enhancing your office to make it more productive!
